Financial Hub

With cost-of-living increases, housing challenges, and other life circumstances, many people experience financial difficulties at some point. These can range from problems creating a budget that works for the whole household through to large unpaid debts.

YFS’ Financial Hub is a free service for anyone in the Logan area who is experiencing personal financial difficulties.

The team includes financial counsellors and financial capability workers who can help you or your family:

• develop a household budgets
• strengthen your money skills
• understand your financial options
• negotiate debt payments
• access help with overdue bills
• find emergency relief
• manage or cut back your gambling
• connect to other supports (like housing, employment, safety, and parenting)

After reaching out to YFS, you will receive a call from someone at the Financial Hub who will ask about your living situation, your work situation, and your income and debts. 

This will help the team provide you with information and options specific to your circumstances. Together, you will then develop a plan that’s the right fit for you.  

Depending on your goals, you may have follow up appointments with someone from the Financial Hub – in person or over the phone.  

At every point in the process, you will be given all the information you need to feel confident in your next steps. The Financial Hub team understands it can be difficult discussing finances and asking for help and will never judge you or make assumptions about your situation.  

The team is passionate about making sure you have the right support across all areas of life where you might need help, not just your finances, and can help connect you with other YFS services if needed.  

Our Financial Hub accepts self-referrals, as well as referrals from other YFS services, community organisations, partner agencies including Beaucare and Yarrabilba Family place and the National Debt helpline.  

YFS’ Financial Hub is a free service for anyone experiencing personal financial difficulties in the Logan region. The team offers financial capability coaching as well as financial counselling for long-term stability. 

No specific details need be included in a referral other than a person’s name and address, to confirm eligibility. 

All referrals are reviewed and assessed for eligibility before being allocated to either financial counselling or capability, based on best fit.  

YFS’ Financial Hub is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Social Services.

Our Financial Hub co-locates with Family and Community Place (Yarrabilba), Beaucare (Beaudesert) and FamilyLinQ (Kingston).
